Dr. Amir Azarpazhooh (Azar) is a certified dental specialist in two fields of Endodontics as well as Dental Public Health. He received his dental degree from Iran in 2001, his specialty training in Canada at the University of Toronto in Dental Public Health (2007) and Endodontics (2010), followed by his PhD (2011).\u00a0 In addition, he is a Dipolmate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Azar has great interest in both academic and clinical research. He is an Full Professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry (click here<\/a>\u00a0to read more), and School of Public Health (click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0to read more).\u00a0 He is also the Head of Endodontics at the Department of Dentistry, Mount Sinai Hospital (click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0to read more).<\/p>\n Currently, his attributed grants and awards total more than CDN $1.25M and these have enabled him to manage a strong group of graduate students over the years. To date, published six book chapters, 1 book, and more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and has presented at over 50 national and international scientific meetings. He has been awarded nationally and internationally, by the Cochrane Canada, the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the American Association of Endodontists. He is an Associate Editor of the of the\u00a0Journal of Endodontics<\/a>, the official journal of the\u00a0American Association of Endodontists<\/a>.<\/p>\n Amir\u00a0is a practicing endodontist, with part-time private practices in Toronto as well as a hospital practice in Mount Sinai Hospital providing endodontic care to patients when their medical, physical or mental status indicates the need for a hospital environment.\u00a0A keen practitioner of evidenced-based dentistry, Dr. Azar has a passion for collaborative decision making in teaching and in practice.
